While Tomorrowland‘s flagship gathering took place in Belgium this last weekend, unfortunate circumstances befell one of its satellite events. 22,000 revelers were evacuated from the grounds of Tomorrowland UNITE Spain when its main stage caught fire on the evening of Saturday, the 29th.
According to a statement on the UNITE Spain website, a “technical malfunction” was responsible for the fire, which caused no injuries. “Authorities will follow up and continue the investigation with the local Spanish organizer of UNITE,” it said.

Tomorrowland’s UNITE events afford fans abroad an opportunity to tune into the Boom, Belgium festival by streaming performances from its main stage along with synchronized effects and additional headliners. UNITE Spain had taken place at the Marsa Sports Grounds in Barcelona.
A post on a separate website instructs Tomorrowland UNITE Spain attendees to keep their bracelets, promising a full refund of the ticket price in addition to any leftover balance on their account.
