Paul van Dyk took the opportunity to premiere his latest piece of music during his set at Tomorrowland last weekend. Titled “Stronger Together,” the single is a collaboration between the German trance icon and a Namibian DJ and producer named Pierre Pienaar.
In a video segment from the Tomorrowland live stream that was later posted to the Paul van Dyk Facebook page, audio of the live debut of the track accompanies various shots from under the festival’s Trance Energy stage. Even without a featured vocalist, each euphoric crescendo of “Stronger Together” sends ripples of motion through the audience.
Although van Dyk’s trance credentials extend as far back to the genre’s early ’90s origins, Pierre Pienaar is a far more obscure artist. The latter has gained more momentum recently, though. A year ago a song of his titled “Novus Vitae” rose to #3 on Ferry Corsten‘s weekly radio show, Corsten’s Countdown, and in February another called “Emirembe” made it onto the podcast again.
Paul van Dyk and Pierre Pienaar’s “Stronger Together” came out on the former producer’s artist imprint, Vandit Records, on July 21st. Find the track for download via Beatport.
