The first guest speakers and performers for the 2017 edition of Ableton‘s esteemed Loop conference in Berlin have been revealed. Jlin, Machinedrum and William Basinski will make appearances at the meeting of the minds, as well as NYC collective Discwoman.
The third edition of the summit – which promises “three days of discussions, performances, presentations, studio sessions, installations and interactive workshops” – will also feature keynote speeches by university professor and audio engineer Susan Rogers and prolific mastering engineer Mandy Parnell. The former worked with artists like Prince and David Byrne, and the clientele of the latter included Aphex Twin, Brian Eno and Björk.
An African sustainability initiative largely comprised of musicians called The Nile Project are also confirmed for Loop 2017.
At night, some of the daytime speakers and demonstrators will perform at Berlin nightclub Tresor, which itself is a globally recognized symbol of electronic music culture. The full program for both Tresor and Loop remains to be seen.
