Dirtybird Records heavy hitter Shiba San has made his debut on Lee Foss‘ Repopulate Mars imprint. The three-track EP What’s On My Mind came out Friday, June 30th, and consists of two singles by the Parisian producer as well as another by Hot Creations signee Bontan.
The title track of What’s On My Mind perfectly encapsulates Shiba San’s signature style of tech house, while Bontan’s remix of the track incorporates a bouncy 303 bass line as well as more percussive elements. The third and final song on the effort is “Oh My God,” the wonky sort of DJ tool you might expect from a Dirtybird alumnus.
Foss had launched Repopulate Mars in 2016 after the success of Hot Creations, which he and DJ/producer Jamie Jones founded in 2010. Raffa FL, Mihalis Safras and Mirko DiFlorio are among the other artists to see releases on the relatively young label.
With What’s On My Mind in the rear view mirror, Shiba San continues his North American tour with a performance at Digital Dreams Festival in Toronto.
