In its 18th year running, MUTEK‘s flagship festival has unveiled its full entertainment roster. The Montreal electronic music gathering’s fall edition extends from August 22nd-27th and showcases a cross section of global talent that largely favors Canadian artists.
The final lineup announcement featured Canadians Racine & Wolski, buffalo MRI and Loose Excursions in addition to artists from other parts of the world like Beatrice Dillon from the U.K. and Shit & Shine from the U.S.. Just shy of 100 names found their way onto the bill for the festivities, 41 of which consist of at least one member hailing from some part of Canada.
Following its debut in 2000, MUTEK has expanded to include editions in Mexico, Argentina, Chile, Brazil and Colombia. According to the organization’s website, it has also given its brand varying degrees of presence abroad in cities like London, Barcelona and Berlin – “exploring the contemporaneous and multi-disciplinary links between Montréal and these capitals.”
