KiNK to Release New EP as kirilik on Len Faki’s Label, Figure

KiNK‘s music all falls into one of two discrete categories: soulful house or experimental techno. Where selections from the Bulgarian producer’s most recent album manifested as the former, Infinity Is Not A Number follows a nostalgic procedure to yield the latter.

Slated for release on Len Faki‘s Figure imprint, the four-track EP will see Strahil Velchev depart from his KiNK alias to release music as kirilik. If his future songs under the moniker are anything like the first, they will consist of slow-burning, densely arpeggiated disharmonies produced with a drum machine and Eurorack modular synthesizer.

To whet fans’ appetite for the EP Velchev has uploaded a video of the “slow version” of the EP’s title track. Releases aside, as kirilik he will take cues from ’80s and ’90s techno artists to explore new ways to perform electronic music live.

KiNK will release Infinity Is Not A Number via Figure on June 11th.

KiNK Shares Details of Upcoming Album on Running Back

At long last, KiNK A.K.A. Strahil Velchev has revealed the details of his upcoming LP. Titled Playground, the 12-track effort will come out via Gerd Janson‘s Running Back imprint in the fall of 2017.

Running Back staff had begun stoking fans’ interest for Playground months before they even let its lead single trickle out. A week ago they uploaded “Perth” to their YouTube account. Albeit a back-to-basics house cut, the song’s inventive chord progression renders it a standout concept.

Playground marks Velchev’s second studio-length album, following his 2014 debut EP, Under Destruction. In regards to the effort, a spokesperson on behalf of Running Back described the songs comprising its tracklist as “avant-garde soundscapes, boisterous bangers, and classic club tracks.”

“Perth” by KiNK is slated for release on September 22nd, and the Playground in its entirety will arrive by way of Running Back sometime in November. Find the tracklist and artwork for the album below.
