A single by a mysterious producer began making its rounds earlier in the year, and now it sees an official release. “Duo” by Teser arrives by way of Pete Tong‘s FFRR Records imprint today, July 7th.
A memorable piece of progressive house that borders on ethereal techno, “Duo” derives its essence from an unorthodox analogue synth arpeggio. At every phrase the progression lathers up into a melodic crescendo, and intentional flaws in the composition add a strangely sublime human element.
Teser is an as-yet-unknown artist remaining anonymous for the time being. Only three files have been uploaded to the producer’s SoundCloud account: “Duo” and two rips of the single from Pete Tong and Kölsch‘s radio shows. The former declared it his “Essential New Tune,” and the latter presented it as his “Demo of the Month.”
Teser’s early support indicates that (s)he’s already well established in the industry – although “Duo” holds up on its own merit. However, no details of the artist’s upcoming releases or performances are available at this time.
